The Ultimate Gift

Last night I watch the movie 'The Ultimate Gift'. I thought it was so good. Yes, it made me cry, but I still loved it. Normally I don't like movies that have sad stuff in them, but I loved this one. I love the meaning behind it. Abigail Breslin is an incredible actress. And the main actor, Drew Fuller, is way cute. It is a bit of a chick flick, but very worth watching. If you haven't seen it yet, go rent it and then let me know what you think.

Easy Magnet Board

I found this really cute craft idea to turn old cookie sheets into magnetic message boards.
There are several ways to make them. For mine, I used scrapbook paper. You can also use 'sticky paper' (like you would line kitchen drawers or shelves with). You could also paint it with acrylic paint or chalkboard paint. For my larger one, I spray painted the bottom side with red paint and then with a mat finish. Then I cut out the paper that I wanted and attached them with double sided craft tape (the kind used for scrap booking). Then I took an old container, covered it with paper and hot glued it to the pan. You can also use a tin can that has no sharp edges. I have added magnetic clips to mine.

If you don't have any old pans but would still like to make this project, I bought the little pan at the Dollar Tree store. For this one, I decided not to paint it. I cut out the paper and attached it the same way as the other one. Then I cut a small strip of felt that has the adhesive backing and attached it to the bottom so that I could add office clips to it. They hold a little more weight than the magnetic clips because the pins in the back are more secure in the felt.

As you can see, the decorating ideas are endless. So are their uses. You can use them as chore boards or to organize the kids homework. They are also perfect for holding and displaying your kids art. If anyone decides to try this project, I would love to see your creative work.

"Mamma Mia"-Way Good!

Yesterday I went and saw Mamma Mia with my little sis. I had heard that it was good and I was a little afraid that it wouldn't be as good as rumored. But this was way good. My sister and I were laughing through most of it. I totally want the sound track. I may even buy it when it comes out on DVD. I grew up listening to ABBA so it was a bit of a walk down memory lane as I heard some of the songs. But even if you are not familiar with ABBA, I think you would still really enjoy this film. In my opinion, a must see.

Have you read this book?

'The Princess Academy' by Shannon Hale. If you haven't read this, I recommend that you do. The first chapter or two may be a little confusing, but in my opinion, most books start that way. Once you get to know the characters you will love it. I have also read Shannon Hale's book 'The Goose Girl'. It too is an excellent book. It was written for young girls, but I think women of all ages will love it. Click on the title (Have you read this book) to link to Shannon Hale's Website.
